West Texas Chamber Favors Oil and Gas Commission
The West Texas Chamber of Commerce district directors voted to urge the creation of a Public Utilities Commission appointed by the legislature to protect private oil and gas owners in Texas and to oppose the appointment of Frank Baldwin to the State Board of Education. They also endorsed locating an experiment station in the Panhandle and setting Palo Duro Canyon as a state park while supporting a museum to preserve Northwest Texas history. The Amarillo Hotel meeting featured President C E Coombes and other officials guiding discussions on these measures.
