Halas Demands East Rivalries To Boost Bears Gate
Chicago Bear owner George Halas urged a fluid 1951 divisional lineup at the NFL meeting. He favors restoring East rivalries with the Giants or Redskins or challenging the Browns, warning Western division play hurts Chicago’s gate. Other owners backed TV growth, night-game pants rules, and exhibition guarantees, while rejecting several draft-related proposals.
