Jets Zoom to Victory Over Korea Air Battle

American Thunderjets swept northwest Korea and claimed four MiG-15s down with one probable kill and four damaged. In a companion raid 46 F-86 jets attacked Pyongyang, clearing the way for a large B-29 strike. Fifth Air Force flew 79 jets in two strikes as forces clashed near Wonju Yongwol and Tanyang. An air battle saw 33 Thunderjets versus 18 to 28 MiGs over Sinuiju with heavy ground fighting ongoing nearby.

Mrs Finney Found Dead In Her Car

Mrs F E Finney 58 was found dead in her 1950 Ford stalled in a field off Highway 87 north of Tulsa. Sheriff Hugh White said she likely died Sunday night or Monday morning, possibly from a heart attack after years of ill health and diabetes. Her daughter Verdis Chilton cited recent health issues and noted Finney left Sunday to visit a sister.
