Culwell Faces Charges in Dallas Witness Case
Potter noted two co defendants Hanley Booth and Alfred Wayne Likes were free on bond when reindicted by the same grand jury. Culwell is charged with causing two witnesses in a Mann Act trial to make false statements. The Booth and Likes trial in Dallas last Sept. 22 ended in a mistrial. The indictment claims they procured an automobile for immoral purposes. Deputy Marshal Bill Lampe said Booth and Ruby Booth were arrested here in June last year and bonded on white slavery charges. Foreman Paul Matthews of Greenville reported 18 other indictments, including Amarillo connections. Other names tied to interstate thefts include Ignacio Fuentes Palacio and Robert Stone Samora.
