Dr Edwin F Peters president of Des Moines Still College of Osteopathy and Surgery met with West Texas State College faculty in Canyon to discuss a Texas program for teachers to earn a bachelor of science after one year at an osteopathic college, with pre med courses taken for three years at a teachers college. He also met with prospective students Bobby Leachman and Harry Brown Jr. of Canyon.
Maurice L. Farrell named managing editor of the Southwest edition to be published daily in Dallas. Bernard Kilgore, Dow Jones president, said publication would begin early spring. A Southwestern News Bureau will operate from the First National Bank Building in Dallas as the regional HQ for WSJ and Dow Jones News Service. Farrell previously joined the WSJ.
Willis H. Myers 72 years old a Fort Worth and Denver car inspector died yesterday at his Amarillo home in Pleasant Valley where he had lived since 1906. He is survived by his widow Mrs Neva Myers a son George and a daughter Mrs FE Kroboth a sister Mrs Della Rokes of Minneapolis and seven grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Tentative arrangements for the funeral were made today and services probably will be held at 4 oclock tomorrow afternoon in Griggs grandchild chapel.
