Town Wear Gowns Trim and Trim By ALICE LANGELIER
Paris fashion notes describe town wear as trim with hip line cuts and subtle hem dips. The Comtesse de Brantes favors dark brown flat crepe with a front hem about 14 inches from the ground, back slightly longer. Other Frenchwomen show tiny grey crepe satin looks with leather belts shaping a blouse line and gently flared skirts ending 14 inches above the feet. Black satin and black flat crepe are favored, paired with white satin blouses or black broadcloth and broadtail ensembles.
