Gene Tunney won judgment today in the suit for $500000 damages brought by Mrs. Katherine King Fogarty alleging breach of promise. The action was unopposed and Judge Carl Foster ruled for Tunney in the counter suit. Tunney argued the suit was aimed at injuring his character. he still faces another action by John S. Fogarty alleging alienation of his wife’s affections.
Police Judge Homer A Callaway and Chief W R McDowell with City Manager W N Durham report intensified action against motorists rolling through red lights without stopping. They warn pedestrians are endangered and pledge stricter patrol measures while stressing drivers must yield to green light traffic.
C N Stone vice president of Babsons Reports confirms Amarillo will be included in the Babson Sales and Credit Map after efforts by John E Hill Panhandle Lumber Co and local chamber groups. Rochelle Cole, 19, Hood County farm youth, accepted a ride Christmas Eve and was forced to stand shivering on the highway with no clothes. Forrest Dawson, 22, jailed on a robbery with firearms charge for taking $5 and all clothing except a coat from the victim at gunpoint. Dawson had prior record including a six year term at a state training school after a 1921 charge.

Smyer moves to Arkantos River Division with La Junta HQ. C B Cravens shifts to Pecos division with Clovis HQ. Amarillo officials join in welcoming Myers back to the city. He left to recuperate and now reports good health and eagerness to return.
Shamrock December 27. Burns from a spilling boiling pot of coffee three days earlier proved fatal for Junior Tapley eight months old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Tapley. The pot overturned and spilled down the child's front causing severe scalding despite doctors efforts.
Senator Norris and Senator Borah call for Secretary Mellon resignation as a first step in a broad clean up of prohibition enforcement. The administration is quietly remolding enforcement personnel with five administrators shifted and a sixth dropped, amid promises of further changes. A law enforcement commission report due early next year is expected to back Borah’s call for comprehensive reform.
Senator Norris of Nebraska charges there has never been a fair and honest attempt to enforce prohibition. He says political influence has shaped the appointment of enforcement officers and that bootleggers sometimes name city agents. Norris blames the president, but notes Hoover has not yet served long enough.

Fort Worth Texas December 27 Steve Preston 24 a hotel cook lay in critical condition after being shot by Charles L Stout 29 a Kelly Field San Antonio soldier. Stouts estranged wife a waitress and another young woman were in Mrs Stouts room when a struggle led to the shooting. Stout said he objected to his wife going with Preston and met the cook on the street then went to the room.
Chicago December 27 William Murray a businessman dealt himself 13 hearts in a bridge game and failed to bid the hand correctly. He opened seven on a perfect heart hand and was outbid by the next player. Murray's partner Eric Turner held 12 spades and bid seven spades, fulfilling the contract by trumping the fourth player James Adams's lead and taking Adams' king with the ace.
Police probe into the contract killings of New York mob leaders Frankie Yale and Frank Marlow centers on Chicago after a $20 000 contract signed by Bronx racketeer Cir Terranova. NY officials say a Chicago gunman killed Yale and Marlow and the contract may be used to pressure Terranova.
