Gilvin Outlines Texas Tax Equalization Plan

John B. Gilvin of the Texas Tax League says the present system penalizes progressive counties as valuations rise with improvements. The league aims to equalize state taxes, backing the Lackey bill to have a state board act as an equalization body while county assessments are studied on site. Next league meeting is in Austin January 15 with Gilvin planning to attend.
