United States C C Stands Put on Tax Cut
The United States Chamber of Commerce urged a total tax cut of 394 million dollars, proposing lower corporation tax to 10 percent, repeal of war excises and the federal inheritance tax. The administration backs parts of the plan, favors 12 percent corp tax, while the House proposed 11 and a half. Felix M. McWhirter defended the chamber’s figures and fiscal stance as consistent with postwar repeal aims.
