Beautification Program Named Year Project For Alpine Garden Club
Alpine Garden club held a 3 30 meeting to plan this year’s projects and select delegates for the El Paso district meeting on Oct 7. The main effort is beautifying the chamber of commerce grounds with native plants. Mrs W J Smith leads the project with others to be named. A $25 contribution supports the Texas wing of the Garden Clubs of America in St Louis in honor of Mrs R A Whiteside. Five dollars will go to the Blue Star memorial fund and Texas Garden Clubs aids garden therapy for the blind. Delegates to El Paso: Mrs R A Whiteside and Mrs P V Cartwright, with alternates Mrs W E Williams and Mrs Chas T Holmes.

Andersons Attend Son’s Marriage at Randolph Air Force Base
Mr and Mrs C M Anderson traveled to San Antonio for the wedding of their son J C Hamilton to Miss Ashleigh Pilkenton at Randolph Air Force Base chapel on Friday Sept 10. Fall Fashion Parade by El Progreso Club in Alpine
El Progreso club under Mrs. Eddie Gray will host a benefit Fall fashion parade October 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Alpine High School gym. Proceeds assist ex-Sul Ross students with Ko kernot lodge redecoration and furnish a civic meeting place, plus a donation to the Mexican Community center. Local merchants participate.
