Local March of Dimes Drive Raises About 150
About $150 was raised locally in the emergency campaign. Of this, roughly $90 came from Alpine and Marfa Little League all-star games sponsored by the Alpine Lions Club and $61 from the iron lungs collection. Light shower gauges .18 inches in Alpine this Monday
A light shower fell in Alpine Monday afternoon measuring .18 inches on the college gauge, lighter in the west. The last moisture recorded was 1.33 inches on Thursday August 26, and authorities say ranges need more moisture as August rains helped grass begin to grow.
