Alpine travels to Martin Field in Marfa to clash with the Shorthorns in a Big Bend football renewal. The teams share five common opponents Pecos Fort Stockton Crane El Paso Parkland and Fabens with Marfa showing better offense and Alpine tougher defense. Glen Jiminez is expected to return for Alpine as the Bucks chase another balanced performance after a strong Fabens game.

A downtown pep rally is scheduled for 3 p m Friday at the Southern Pacific parking lot in downtown Alpine. The rally invites public participation and is hosted by local organizers and sponsors.
Sul Ross State College plans a three day homecoming weekend from October 27 to 29. Activities include a bonfire and pep rally, an intercollegiate rodeo, a homecoming parade, coronation of the queen, two dances, a breakfast event, and a golf tournament sponsored by Alpine Country Club. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Main Auditorium.
Alpine High School hosts the annual Halloween Carnival on Tuesday October 31 at 5 30 p m in the high school patio. Junior Class sponsors supper and new rides include The Animal Train on the tennis court. The event features Name That Tune booth piano drama dunking stool fortune telling and other booths with activities and prizes.
