Alpine Homecoming Bucks to host Fabers Friday night
Alpine comes off a tight 7 6 loss to Crane and seeks revenge as they host the Fabers Wildcats in district GAA play at Jackson Field. Both teams carry 1 win and 5 losses, with Fabers opening 1967 at 28 0 over VanHam and dropping to six straight defeats. Alpine, after a 28 0 win over Dover Parkland, lost earlier to start the season but showed fight against Crane. Coach Bore Ansley praised the effort, noting fumbles and Crane’s kicking game shaped the outcome and calling the game one of the finest high school efforts he has seen.

Enthusiasm grows as Alpine High School alumni plan Homecoming activities this weekend at Jackson Field. The Class of 1917 marks its 50th anniversary with pregame ceremonies, a 10 a.m. Saturday reception at the First National Bank Community Room in Alpine, and exhibitions of keepsakes from five years ago. Exes from 1912 through 1917, including Mrs. Viola Trent Davey and Mrs. Mary Gillett Hancock, are noted among those attending, with several out-of-town members hoped to return.

Mayor Homer Hodgis sustained his veto of a water rate increase, while council members agreed some rise is needed. Action postponed until full council is present. two councilmen were absent. Earlier Oct. 10 rate rise was vetoed Oct. 12. mayor favored ordinance over resolution and proposed a 0.5 cent per 1 902 gallons raise for all classifications. Mom and Dad Night Held During Alpine Buck Homecoming
At Jackson Field during the Alpine Fathers football game, Buck players’ moms and dads are invited to meet at 7 29 p m in front of the north stands. A 7 35 program has players presenting their moms, with moms seated in a reserved section and dads watching from the Buck bench. Each dad wears his son’s number. Half time features the crowning of the football sweetheart and a pep squad performance, with the Mountain Southwest lights illuminated.
