Disheartening news for hot check artists who pass checks on out of city banks followed a Ft. Worth conference between Assistant District Attorney Rotsch and Attorney Crager Crager told Rotsch that given the rising trend in bank compliance efforts these offenders may face stricter prosecution and revised writing conventions to reflect new legal expectations.

Allred Will Probe Wild Bank Rumors
Texas Attorney General James J. Allred announced a state wide probe into circulating false statements harming bank solvency. He stressed such acts with intent to cause a bank to fail are criminal, carrying up to two years imprisonment and a $2 500 fine or both. The request follows Abilene citizens’ appeal for action. A Panhandle church operates a 200 acre farm to meet its debt obligations.

Forest fires in the United States last year burned over 52,266,460 acres with a loss of $68,168.50. The forest service credited organized protection for lower losses on protected lands 5,800,320 acres burned versus 46,457,140 on unprotected lands.
