Alpine Men To Attend Highway 90 Conference
Alpine figures Gene Hillger of the Highway 90 Association and J. Y. Walker will attend a Tucson Arizona meeting next Tuesday Oct 11. They will draft a proposal to extend the U S Highway 90 designation to San Diego California with participation from city representatives along 90 and Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Safe way Association members. The plan will be sent to highway departments of each state.

Marathon Man Starts Marine Recruit Training in San Diego
Bauai U. Garcia of Marathon is set to finish a 10 week Marine Corps recruit course at the Depot in San Diego in November. The program covers basic military subjects and firing of infantry weapons and after graduation recruits are assigned to Camp Pendleton or Marine Corps schools. Recent data show 19 year old American youths taller by about 5.9 inches and heavier by about 31.9 pounds than 14 year olds in 1877.
