Antelope Processing Record at Nelon Plant Alpine
Mrs Grady Nelon reported a record 83 antelope processed this week at the Nelon Locker Plant in Alpine with 13 does and 70 bucks. Does were hunted on weekend and bucks on the following weekdays as hunters from across Texas visited the Big Bend under wide game warden coverage in the Tran Pecos area.

First Hospital Gift Announced
County Judge Felix McGaughy announced the first memorial gift for the new Brewster County Hospital. The Louis Forchheimer family of Alpine and Emil and Benno Forchheimer of Columbus Ohio will furnish a room in the hospital. He urged more memorial gifts to fund building and equipment, noting that furnishings donations save money for additional rooms.

Park Tourist Travel Climbs at Big Bend September Visit
Park Superintendent George W. Miller reports September tourism at Big Bend National Park rose 14 percent from a year earlier. Last month 6424 people visited in 1810 autos versus 5703 people in 1779 vehicles in September 1954. Travel for 1955 to date totals 67,036 people in 16,352 cars, up 19 percent from last year’s 56,013 people in 14,518 cars.

Last Rites Held For Mrs Slover in Alpine
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Adams Slover 81 were held at Livingston Funeral Home chapel at 3 p.m. Tuesday. She died Sunday in a Fort Stockton hospital after a short illness. Survivors include four sons and numerous grandchildren. family long-time residents of Alpine with ties to Comanche County and Globe, Arizona. Interment in Elm Grove Cemetery with pallbearers named C. V. Turner and others.
