Budget received clears Alpine School records for 60 61
The 1960 61 budget has been received from Texas Education Agency Austin and cleared Alpine School records for participation in the school financial participation for the year. The Pilot Club of Alpine met September 28 with Jo Ella Livingston presiding. District governor Virginia Allen of Lufkin will visit November 28. A hobby show is planned December 21 and 22 at the Holland House Hotel.

The Su Ross Rodeo Club held its first meeting Monday September 19 1960 with about eighty students in attendance. Hayslip Undergoing Mountain Training
Marine Lance Corporal John V. Hayslip, son of Mrs. A Hayslip of Alpine, is in a one month mountain training exercise with the First Reconnaissance Battalion at the Marine Corps Cold Weather Training Center in Bridgeport California. The program, which began September 9, covers mountain climbing, survival, escape and evasion, and resistance to interrogation. The battalion is based at Camp Pendleton, California.
