Pate to represent them as supervisor in the area north and west of U S Highway The Bend SCD was organized. Attendance at meetings has been strong with about 90 percent turnout. Pate led soil and water conservation efforts and set a pattern for cooperators to evaluate practices. The election was held at the district headquarters with Frank Newsom as chairman. About 45 ranchers and their wives attended a barbecue dinner.
