Rain Deluge Refreshes Big Bend With Record March Rain
In the Big Bend region starting Friday through Monday, an extraordinary rainfall measured 3.5 to 5.5 inches across Alpine Brewster County and surrounding areas. The rain fell slowly, aided soil retention, with Terlingua Creek over banks and several tanks filling across Decie and nearby ranches. Local observers credit signs and locals like Thelma Adams and Rex Ivey for foretelling rain, and report near record low temperatures around 38 degrees Saturday morning as sunshine returned by midweek.
