Texas Tyler to Headline Assembly Service Gospel Night
Texas Tyler known as The Man With a Million Friends appears at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Nov 21 in the Assembly of Sod Church. Rev. Walter W. Sach says Tyler will share his conversion story and perform gospel songs with his guitar after a career in country and western work including Grand Ole Opry appearances.

Upton matriarch critical after late night Kermit crash
Mrs Jara Purl Upton of Ker mit mother of Charles Upton who earned a Sul Ross College degree in August remains on the critical list at a Kermit hospital after a head on collision 8 miles north of Kermit on October 9. Her husband Ena Upton and the other driver were killed. Bruce Harlan age 4 and La Nella Harlan age 2 children of Dr Ronald Harlan were injured. Charles Upton now teaches in Kermit. Funeral services were held in Kermit for Mr Upton.
