Love affair of big female lobo wolf ends near Fort Davis

A large female lobo wolf captured on the A. R. Eppenauer ranch in the Davis Mountains by Ross Graves ended its brief presence in Texas. The wolf, nearly extinct here, was trapped on a trail her forelegs caught in two No 4 traps. Graves and ranch foreman Orville Braswell moved the animal to Fort Davis for public viewing and later to Marfa. Graves noted the wolf appeared to roam seeking a mate amid German police dogs on the ranch. The animal, uninjured aside from trapped legs, was described as unadulterated lobo likely coming from Mexico.
