West Texas Utilities wins first in 1954 Better Copy contest
West Texas Utilities Co won a first place national award in the 1954 Better Copy contest for Best Single Newspaper Advertisement Promoting the Use of Electric Service. The Avalanche and other papers carried the winning ad. The contest drew nearly 2,059 entries across 22 classifications from U S utilities, Canada, and Hawaii.
