Jordan names Masri U.N. delegate in New York posting
Munib Masri, a Sul Ross State University graduate, has been invited to serve with Jordan at the United Nations in New York. He will begin with a week long orientation and may join the Jordanian delegation. Angela Masri plans to work for Aramco in New York after graduation. The Masri family, including nine month old Rabih, plans to visit Jordan before next year.

Andrew Owens Promoted to Sonarman Third Class
The Navy Department announced the promotion of Andrew Owens son of Mr and Mrs A G Owens of Alpine to sonarman third class USN while serving with Pacific Fleet Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 2. The promotion followed a Navy wide officer examination conducted in February.

UT Austin Student Receives Fulbright Scholarship
Rob Hodges Shaffer a University of Texas economics graduate from Temple has won a free 91 Fulbright scholarship to study in New Zealand. He was recommended by the campus Fulbright committee and the Institute of Foreign Scholarships whose members are appointed by the President. Shaffer serves as vice president of the Foreign Trade Club at UT.
