FHA Program Is Home Owner Aid
John W. Gillett of the National Retail Lumber Dealers Assn says Congress will find thousands of Alpine homeowners used FHA Title I loans for affordable improvements. He notes self supporting loans require no taxpayer funds and calls out abuses by unknown out-of-town operators. Gillett supports extending repayment to five years and raising the borrowing limit from 2500 to 3000, praising new FHA Commissioner Norman Mason.
