Dairy Cattle Project Prepares 150 Cows for World Fair

Ground-breaking party marks start of taking 150 top North American dairy cows to the New York World's Fair. Cattle breeds shown include Guernsey Jersey Brown-Swiss Holstein and Ayrshire. Cows will be milked thrice daily and housed as part of the Borden exhibit on the Central Mall.

Senior Day Celebrated Marathon Seniors Tour Carlsbad Caverns

The Marathon High School class of 1938 marked its first senior trip to Carlsbad Caverns. Chaperoned by J. D. Wood and Mrs. Albert Chambers the group of 12 visited the caverns, swam, watched a movie, and toured the museum arriving after a 10 hour journey. They trekked 6 to 12 miles with 766 visitors that day, including 487 Texans and 500 school children, on the return trip via Red Bluff dam and Pecos.
