The Marine Corps officer selection team from San Antonio will visit Alpine and Sul Ross College Monday through Wednesday in March 2022 to interview students interested in earning Marine Corps commissions. Led by Capt. Douglas A.

Raymond B. Seymour chair of Chemistry at Sul Ross State College announced that Robert Stehle a Midland freshman won the annual handbook award. The selection followed a competitive exam among twenty chemistry majors and advances Stehle toward a national Rubber Chemical Company sponsored prize.
Several Sul Ross students including Ray Barbee Clyde Riley Tom Rogers and Margo Schmidt attended the Collegiate Science Research Conference at Texas Tech in Lubbock March 9 10. Dr Gillaspy sponsored the biology department event under the Texas Academy of Science and National Science Foundation auspices. The two day event offered junior and small senior college students from across the state a look at research facilities and the nature and rewards of present day science.
Sixteen Alpine High School Buck players and Coach James Crawford were hosted by Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Ward on the Loop Road. The meal featured fried chicken, baked ham, potato salad, frijoles, chili, French bread, peach ice cream and chocolate cake, with additional visits noted in Austin and Kyle.
