Understanding Karat Versus Carat in Gold Jewelry
The distinction between karat and carat is clarified with karat indicating gold fineness while carat denotes weight in gemstones. Gold jewelry uses alloyed karats such as 22 18 14 12 and 10 to improve hardness, with 24 karat pure gold being too soft for practical use. Jeweler notes invite readers to view fine jewelry and gift selections.
