Epperson District Judge Dies After Heart Attack
J C Epperson 65 longtime judge of the 83rd Judicial district died early Saturday in Alice hospital after a heart attack. He had been assisting Acting Judge A S Broadfoot in the 79th district and dined with the Broadfoots the night before. Born in Tyler on July 6 1888 he was admitted to the bar in 1916 and served as county attorney district attorney and county judge in Edinburg before moving to Alpine in 1942 and later being appointed district judge in 1951.

Visitors Day At Mitre Peak Scout Camp Announced
Mitre Peak Girl Scout camp, 13 miles north of Alpine, will observe Visitors Day tomorrow. Hugh White of Alpine area director announced the event and Walter Campbell, camp chairman, invites area residents to visit and inspect the newly completed buildings. The summer camp opens Sunday at 2 p.m. with Mrs. C A Shoemake, camp director, ready to receive girls. The camp can host about 70 girls at a time and groups will attend through the summer periods.
