Chaney ranch horses race win and sale near Marathon
Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Chaney visit Alpine area with their racehorse Beso del Aire raised on their Brewster County ranch. The horse won $1300 at Suffolk Downs on May 15, then sold for $3500 in a later claiming race. Beso del Aire ran 61 furlongs in 1.13:2. The Chaneys regret selling but notes on drought and shipments dominate the ranch life alongside rainfall updates for nearby ranches and ongoing grazing and brush-control projects across the region.
