The Milwaukee Braves announce a four day baseball school in Alpine at Kokernot Field from June 28 to July 1. Instruction will be led by Earle Halstead Paul Waner and Billy Southworth with John Mullen making the announcement from Milwaukee. Open to boys ages 16 to 22 who bring their own gear and have Legion permission. Headquarters at the Holland Hotel Alpine with housing info via the Chamber of Commerce.

Television Cable Being Installed for Alpine Demo
Alpines new elevation cable will be demonstrated at the Country Club Sunday afternoon. Jim Logan of the Big Bend TV Co announced a TV tower and antenna are on the hill north of the Riesswell site and West Texas Utilities Co completes power lines this week. The cable will run to the Country Club for the demonstration and service is now prepared to be offered anywhere in Alpine with details to follow in next week's Avalanche.

Sul Ross Bowling Alley to Open June 15
A new bowling alley on the Sul Ross State College campus will be completed by June 15. The facility includes a semi automatic pin setting system and ball returns. Western Electric Starts Install of New Telephone Equipment
Five Western Electric employees arrived in Alpine to begin installation at the new Southwestern Bell Telephone toll center. Led by J. K. Balthrop of Fort Worth, the crew will install switchboard sections toll terminal equipment and expand the dial system. Work begins Monday June 1 and runs to August 18 with twenty-five men in peak period. The team also will install terminal equipment at Marta Presidio Sanderson and Fort Davis under Balthrop.
