The Glenn F. Davis memorial scholarship fund is established at Sul Ross State University. Davis, a longtime Sul Ross employee, died December 29 1969 with services held December 31 in Alpine at First Presbyterian Church. Burial followed at Elm Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers and ushers included local officials and Sul Ross faculty. out of town relatives attended from multiple Texas cities and beyond.

Infant Michael MacGregor Morow, son of Mr and Mrs Vernon McIntyre Morrow, was christened at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church Alpine. Rev C W Newbill officiated with Miss Sally Glasscock as godmother and Chuck Burling as godfather. The gown worn was from his great-grandfather’s christening and sewn by his great-great-grandmother 74 years ago.
