Man Charged With Assault in Marital Shooting
Leno Cano faces assault with intent to murder charges after his wife Wedelia Sujan Cano was shot in the facial region at their home around 4 a.m. Friday December 26. He posted a $5 000 bond. Mrs Cano, treated in an El Paso hospital, was reported in good condition. The case was filed in Justice of the Peace Hallie Stillwell's court by Silvestre Rodriguez Lujan.

26th Annual Big Bend Livestock Show Dates Set
The 1970 Big Bend Livestock Show will be January 16 and 17 at the Big Bend Wool and Mohair building. 4 H and FFA members will exhibit 43 steers 120 fat lambs 30 breeding sheep and 10 horses. New Tax Tables Due For Withholding Under Reform Act
The Internal Revenue Service said employers will receive new rates and tables for Wage withholding starting January 1 1970. R L Phinney noted computer runs were made pending Congress and the President approving the Tax Reform Act of 1969 provisions. A revised Circular E will be mailed before July 1 with post July 1 rates.
