Rain Tells Big Bend Weekend Story Across Ranch Country
Cy Hallie Stilwell reports widespread weekend rainfall across the Big Bend with 1/2 to over 2 inches in areas. Lower Big Bend including Smidy Butte and Lajitas saw the heaviest rain. Alpine recorded just over an inch with slow runoff. Ranchers from several outfits note good rains, mud in the low areas, and a potential rush of bluebonnets and weed crops.
