Hospital Administrator Attends Anesthesia Meet In Pittsburgh
John M. Stuckwish, Brewster County administrator, attended a Pittsburgh anesthesia refresher institute by the American Hospital Association and the American Association of Registered Nurse Anesthetists. The event drew 156 attendees, about 275 percent of the nation’s anesthetists, with seven leading anesthesiologists lecturing. The talk covered anesthesia phases, equipment, and patient care, underscoring the need for trained personnel amid hospital cost and staffing data from 1958. Texas reportedly faced a shortage of about 150 anesthetists, highlighting broader nationwide gaps.
