Modern Machinery Replaces Teams On Roads In Country
Barry Scobee reports that highway departments increasingly use machines over horse teams on major road projects. A Jeff Davis County machine once did the work of 80 mules with one operator, cutting costs and allowing more road building. The mules will be reassigned to a four mile Davis Mountains state parks project beyond the Rockpiles and Sawtooth range, lowering costs for the west side descent.
