NYC Youth Corps Project Gets $203 130 Grant for Big Bend
Secretary of Labor Willard Wirt approves a 115 member Brewster Jeff Davis and Presidio Counties Youth Corps program managed by the Big Bend Community Action Committee in Marfa. The project costs 203130 with 178290 from federal funds and includes 35 trainees in private industry and 80 community service workers plus remedial education and guidance. An additional 55327 anti poverty grant funds another year of work by the committee to aid low income residents and reduce welfare rolls.
