Card of Thanks and School Gossip Parodied in Murky Note
A fragmented school page item expresses thanks for sympathy in bereavement and blends curious anecdotes about students and staff. It references Marines and sailors, a court house dance, Cadets, Juniors and Seniors, and whimsical chatter about fashion, etiquette, and a captain in Marfa. The tone is light, satirical, and reminiscent of a late 19th or early 20th century campus column with nameless readers and inside jokes.
