How Mileage Is Rationed by the OPA Explained
The OPA explains mileage rationing for vehicle use in wartime. The A book covers 240 miles monthly, with 180 for occupational and 90 for family use, while the B book adds extra miles for heavy occupational driving. C and T books serve special classes and nonhighway equipment, with E and R books for small and large users respectively.

1566 Ration Books Issued in Brewster County
A county estimate shows 1286 gasoline rationing books issued this week. It lists 1020 A books, 129 B books, 167 C books, and 250 T books for truck operators. First three month total equals 34000 gallons. Few Brewster residents got C books.
