Society Study Club Christmas Party at Koker Not Lodge
The annual Christmas party for Study club members and husbands was held at Koker Not Lodge on Thursday evening December 10. Christmas greens and a decorated tree framed gifts, presented via bridge and forty two games. Miss Latie Britt featured two pupils Lucia Rede and Alvina Alfaro with three folk dances in costume. Guests sang carols at the piano as Mrs. B. F. Berkeley played, followed by a salad and sweet course for forty seven guests.

Big Bend National Park Boundary History and Shape
Historical notes recount the creation and boundaries of Big Bend National Park. The 500000 acre park was authorized by Congress and approved in June 1939 with land secured by donations. Boundary surveys by U S and Mexican commissions, led by Conrad L Wirth and David Galil, defined the Rio Grande front and excluded Terlingua lands. The north boundary centers at Persimmon Gap, then follows the Rositos and Christmas mountain areas to the Rio Grande and Dog Canyon.
