Blue Mule Raton Turns White After Eleven Years
Espy Miller, owner of a Fort Davis town home, sent a Mexican rider on a blue mule named Raton toward his ranch twelve miles west of Valentine. The rider and mule completed a sixty mile journey in a single day, then the mule later changed color to white over eleven years in Miller’s corral.

Drilling Underway At County Tests In Two Locations
Work is under way at two tests in the county the Dodson- Means test 18 miles northeast of Al pine and the Decie test near Methon. Efforts continue to remove a packing and several joints of small pipe lost in the hole and the process may take time but the hole is hoped to be saved. The Decie test is being straight reamed in preparation for setting casing to shut off water at 900 feet.

Alpine High finished as runner up at the Rankin tournament last week winning games against Iraan Barstow and Big Lake to reach the final against Rankin. Rankin won 24 13 after leading 10 10 at halftime.
