The Beta Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma held its Christmas banquet on Saturday evening December 2 at the Holland Hotel.
Centennial eighth grade girls coached by Minerva Uranga defeat Van Horn 26 to ? in Centennial Gym. Dora Vega scored nine, Eustalia Villa eight, Rebecca Espinoza five, Connie Rodriguez and Olga Hinojos two each. Guards Josie Martinez, Anna Cobos, Eva Llanez played well. Alpine eighth grade boys host Maria St Marys Thursday at 4 p.m. Admission 25 cents adults 15 cents students.
Marie D. Van Fossan, public accountant, merges her practice with George Angelos & Co. CPA, as Roy Lee Karr Jr. joins the Alpine firm. Karr, from Roswell NM, is a WWII Navy veteran, 42, with two children, Russell and Janet, active in church and community groups. The Angelos home office is in El Paso.
The Alpine Garden Club will show Eastman Kodak color slides from the Annual International Flower Show in New York. The Christmas party takes place at 3 p.m. Friday December 8 in the hospitality room of First Presbyterian Church. Members may bring guests and others interested are welcome.
