Weatherby Rites Held

Jacob Srl Weatherby 67 a Fort Davis native and Houston resident died Friday November 29 at his mother's home. A Navy veteran and later CP A, he opened an accounting firm in 1927. Funeral services were held November 30 at Fort Davis Presbyterian Church with Masonic, Eastern Star and American Legion participation.

Fort Davis Welcomes New Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Richard Brewster becomes Fort Davis kindergarten teacher replacing Mrs. Shirley Brandon who moves to another local job. Brandon remains involved with Kindergarten guiding the students in a musical program. The pageant directed by Mrs. John Robert Prude will be held Sunday December 22 drawing attendees from nearby areas.

Seven Fort Davis Women Complete Red Cross First Aid Course

Seven Fort Davis women finished the Red Cross standard first aid course taught by instructor Arthur D. Bloys over the past weeks. Harry Anthony DeYoung, former Sul Ross College art colony instructor, was a weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Scobee and planned to travel to El Paso after a stop in Alpine. A Union Thanksgiving service was held at the Baptist church conducted by Revs. Richard G. Irving and Edward Townsend with Mrs. George Williams in charge of music. Mrs. Guy Caldwell of Albany reportedly shot two deer, a blacktail and a white tail, during opening hunting season. she is the former Miss Jeanette Tippit.
