Hale Rhodes Wedding Solemnized Here

A double ring ceremony at 5 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 27 united Miss Margaret Rhodes and Richard Cecil Hale with Rev. Earl Dunn officiating. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rhodes of Lake Jackson Texas, and the groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Duncan, plan a Marathon home. The bride wore light blue crepe with pink rosebuds and will teach math in Marathon Public Schools. The groom attends Sul Ross College.

Bus Stop at Alpine Center by Big Bend Players

The Big Bend Players stage the William Inge comedy Bus Stop at the Alpine Community Center Friday and Saturday December 13 and 14. The cast includes Susan Braccini as the kidnapped chanteuse, Jerry Don Johnson as the cowboy, Ken Boyd as his accomplice, Bruce Felker as the sheriff, Mary Ellen Kimball as the cafe owner, Fred Williams as the driver, Elaine Neu as the waitress, and Vernon Harlan as the professor guiding the young woman. Director Wendy Blumenfeld announces the ensemble and Mary Jo Sohl assists. George Price handles sound. Thanksgiving guests of Mr and Mrs H L Kokernot Jr in Alpine included relatives from San Antonio and Los Alamos NM, with Mr and Mrs R M Brown visiting from San Antonio.
