A dozen Alliance firemen joined Scottsbluff firefighters for a farewell banquet honoring Joe Baskins former Scottsbluff fire chief. Guests toured the sugar factory and area farms, enjoyed a long dinner at Hotel Emery, and heard speeches from Scottbluff officials and Alliance figures. The event ended with Baskins thanking attendees and vowing to return to Scottsbluff, with many traveling home by train or car.

A L Ireland prominent Reotta Hluff county citizen stopped in Alliance on his return from a trip to Omaha and visited The Jerald office. He farms irrigated land four miles northeast of Mitchell and is noted as a successful irrigation farmer. Miss A Aylward and her niece Margaret Dwyer returned from Burlington Iowa after six weeks visiting relatives.

Death of Little Girl in Alliance Nebraska
Violettte Lillian Berryhill born at West Burlington Iowa in June 1907 died at her grandmother Mrs Lille D White home in Alliance Nebraska March 1913. Her mother died when she was young and she lived with her grandmother. Remains will be taken to Centerville Iowa for interment beside her mother. Funeral plans await telegraph replies and a short service will be held at the house by Elder F A Woten followed by departure with the remains to Centerville.
