J A Hagar a former Burlington Alliance engineer received notice that the patent for a new crude oil burner was granted. Wm Hill of Alliance, an investor, travels to Washington with Hagar to pursue patent business. The device automates air and oil feed, maintains desired steam pressure, reduces smoke, and promises fuel savings useful for locomotives ships and battleships. Naval officials reviewed the plans in Washington and expect trials on battleships under construction.
