Plymouth county chapter of the American Cancer Society met at Westmar commons with 15 in attendance. Mrs. Don Peters presided as Rev. Arnold Imbrock gave the benediction. Education chairwoman Mrs. Joe Easton reported 13 programs for clubs and 25 for youth this quarter, with 11 action programs initiated. A Remsen program featuring a Breast Cancer film drew 78 women, RSVP guests included Dr. Everett Getty. Easton noted broad school participation in the Send a Mouse to College project during the April crusade. Memorials totaled 142 dollars this quarter. loan closet items and transportation aid were highlighted. Karen Peterson announced Easton’s appointment to the state Public Information committee of the Iowa ACS, with Jan Voss as committee chair. Dr. H. C. Thompson was nominated for the Harold W. Morgan Volunteer award. To date Plymouth county crusade receipts total 7,574.28 toward a 10,680 goal. a full town-by-town report will follow. Officers were re-elected: Peters, Rowe, and Becker. Directors named include Albert, Thompson, Schumacher, Sheehan, Harlan Rowe, Bogh, and Becker. Attendees listed, next meeting set for September.
