Health Protection At Savannah River Plant
Du Ponts health physics department protects 11,121 workers at SRP using radiation protection policies rooted in Manhattan Project experience. The division aims for exposure well below five rems per year, with a three rem limit for workers. The outfit includes 310 staff, monitoring, facility design input, and a rare 170-ton prewar steel whole body counter.
