Review of Ridge Spring Monetta school external review plan

School officials in Area 4, including Joy Shealy and Warren Whitson, outline an external review process for Ridge Spring Monetta to identify strengths and weaknesses. Data from internal teams will guide adjustments over the next five to six weeks, aiming for measurable gains next year without punitive intent. The process resembles work sampling with focused analysis, including collaboration across districts and potential networking with unsatisfactory rated schools.

Wilson Wins Republican Nomination in South District Primary

In the South District primary held Oct. 30, Republican candidate Wilson won with about 75 percent of the vote, defeating four opponents. He aims to continue the late Rep. Spence’s defense and tax policies and positions himself for a Bush era vote, while facing Weaver the Libertarian and Constitution candidates who may hinder turnout in Lexington and Beaufort. Weaver criticizes Wilson as a single issue pro-defense candidate, Lefemine calls to abolish the Education Department and IRS, and Bilertson backs smaller government and abolition of the Education Department and DEA. Eilertson channels a Libertarian-leaning stance that high taxes and excessive regulation harm Americans.
