Public hearing on 13th Street Bridge widening in Augusta faces slim turnout
The 13th Street Bridge widening public hearing drew about 40 people at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center. DOT official blamed weather and season for the turnout while noting comments accepted through Dec 23. The $5.1 million project splits costs between Georgia and South Carolina, reshaping Reynolds and Jones Streets to one way flows and prompting parking concerns from local businesses. Ward and Brown projected bid timing in mid 1986 and 2000 traffic plan scope.
