Aiken Man Charged In Assault Of Pregnant Woman

Devin Cashawn Williams, 23, was charged with second degree domestic violence after a June incident on Silver Bluff Road in Aiken County. Deputies say the victim, six months pregnant, reported physical assault during a domestic dispute and she was treated at a nearby hospital. Williams was arrested Monday and held at the Aiken County detention center.

Animals find homes as Aiken shelter hosts Clear the Shelters

Nearly all pets were adopted at the Aiken County Animal Shelter event on Saturday. In all, five adult cats, 19 kittens, and 48 dogs, including 21 heartworm positive, found new families. Adoption fees were waived, with dogs $35 and cats $10, covering spay neuter, vaccinations, and microchips.
